The Galveston Black Pirates wiggled past the Armstrong's Secret Nine, 6-5, at The Jazz Palace. The win was highlighted by the performance of Galveston pitcher Kurt Kepshire. Kyle Farnsworth earned the save, his 8th in 13 tries. With the victory, the Black Pirates record now stands at 38-53.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Doug Clemens hit a 1-2 slider from Rick Lysander for a run-scoring double. It put Galveston in front, 6-5.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Chris Dedon, the Galveston skipper. "This one tested us."
