Moss belts 2 home runs as Secret Nine Squeeze Past Galveston
The Armstrong's Secret Nine stymied the Galveston Black Pirates, 3-2, at The Jazz Palace. Brandon Moss had a good day at the plate. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Armstrong's. Erskine Mayer was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Paul Byrd. He's now 1 for 1 in save chances.

There was more than one reason the Secret Nine beat the Black Pirates, but Moss's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Galveston manager Chris Dedon.

The Secret Nine have an impressive 57-35 record.
