The Armstrong's Secret Nine topped the Havana Sugar Kings, 9-3, in WBL Rook American action at Gran Estadio. The game was highlighted by the performance of Armstrong's second baseman Gordon Beckham. Scott Sanderson went 9 innings for Armstrong's to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 10 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record improves to 4-5. The last-place Sugar Kings have dropped 5 straight games.

Armstrong's used the bat of Roy Howell to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Secret Nine ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
