Comets Clip Toros, 5-4
|
Kenosha starter Chris Welsh pitched well against the Camagüey Toros at Simmons Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Welsh went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-6. The victory puts Kenosha at 36-61.
In the bottom of the fourth, Dick Kryhoski delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Kenosha first baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Comets in front, 5-4.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Camagüey manager Scott Koziol. "The effort was great."
