Secret Nine Walk Off with 7-5 Win
|
The Armstrong's Secret Nine picked up a win at The Jazz Palace, knocking off the Corpus Christi Hooks, 7-5. Starting pitcher Erskine Mayer was a big reason why. Reliever Rick Lysander picked up the win. His record improves to 2-4. Rod Scurry took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Secret Nine.
Armstrong's won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Rod Scurry on the mound for Corpus Christi, designated hitter Hal Lanier hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Secret Nine fans to their feet.
"This place was jumping at the end," Lanier said.
