Reno Bertoia left his imprint on the 7-3 Corpus Christi win against the Lynchburg Hillcats. Bertoia, the 24th overall pick in the 2000 draft, went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Rick Honeycutt. He's now 11-5. He went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Hooks. Corpus Christi has an impressive 67-33 record.

Bertoia brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the sixth, when the 24-year old second baseman ripped a solo home run. The round-tripper put Corpus Christi ahead, 3-2.
