5-3 Loss Deepens Camagüey Funk
|
Ned Harris left his imprint on the 5-3 Corpus Christi win against the Camagüey Toros. Harris, who is tied for 5th in the ARA in total bases with 325, went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Hugh McQuillan, the winner, improved to 9-7. He held the Toros to 3 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 2. Camagüey has now lost 6 consecutive games.
With Corpus Christi leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Harris hit a slider from Mike Sirotka for a 2-run home run. It was his 57th home run of the season and put the Hooks ahead, 3-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Harris.
