Hillcats Come Back Late to Top Secret Nine, 6-5
|
In a tight contest at The Jazz Palace, the Lynchburg Hillcats edged the Armstrong's Secret Nine by the score of 6-5. Lynchburg catcher Hack J Miller, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Harry Matuzak, 1-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Darren O'Day converted his 2nd save in 6 tries.
Momentum swung to the Hillcats in the top of the sixth, when Miller, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2000 draft, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Hillcats into the lead, 5-4.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Armstrong's manager Justin Bogue. "The effort was great."
The triumph puts Lynchburg at 65-41 for the season.
