Stargell Goes Deep Twice, Helps Grays Top House of David, 13-4
The Homestead Grays topped the Wandering House of David, 13-4, in National League action at Forbes Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Homestead designated hitter Willie Stargell. Bob Knepper was the winner. Over 5 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. With the victory, the Grays upped their record to 56-49.
