Gary Roenicke of the Mineola Black Spiders had a history-making game today against the Philadelphia Pythians, clobbering 4 home runs in an awesome display of power in the 13-8 Black Spiders victory.

The Mineola first baseman went 4-for-4, had 5 RBIs and scored 5 times in the game.

"There have been a few times when I consciously tried to hit one out," said Roenicke later. "It doesn't often work, but it did today for the last one. I guess this day was just meant to be."

Gary Roenicke hit a solo-shot off George Brunet in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off George Brunet in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Morrie Martin in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jorge de la Rosa in the 6th and was hit by a pitch in the 8th.
