Black Barons Win at Home, 3-1
Charlie A Morton never let Houston get something going. The Birmingham right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Black Barons to a 3-1 win. The win makes Birmingham 48-58.

Ryan Braun, who is on pace to hit 55 home runs this season, took Houston hurler Roger Clemens deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Black Barons on top, 2-0. In all, Braun had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Birmingham manager Daniel Makonnen.
