Penn Yan Mustangs starter Tom Underwood turned in a top-notch performance against the D.C. Potomacs at Swampoodle Grounds. The result was a win for the Mustangs, 7-0. Underwood, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. The Mustangs raised their record to 19-28.

The Mustangs got a clutch hit from Jim Greengrass with one out in the top of the eighth inning. Greengrass jumped on a first pitch sinker from Justin Speier and hit a 3-run home run, staking his club to a 7-0 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Underwood told a Penn Yan Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
