The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks went home winners at Recreation Park, thanks in large part to starter Sarge Connally. Connally stifled the Philadelphia Pythians, enabling Chugiak-Eagle River to grab the 4-1 win. Connally, now 5-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Clint Rogge picked up the save, his 1st.

Chugiak-Eagle River relied on the hitting of Candy LaChance to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chinooks on top, 3-0. For the game, LaChance had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
