Werewolves Beat Visiting Potomacs, 4-3
|
In a close game at Tecumseh Park, the London Werewolves edged the D.C. Potomacs, 4-3. London center fielder Chris Denorfia stood apart with his performance. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Oliver Drake got the save, the 3rd for him this season. With the win, the Werewolves have a record of 28-24.
With London leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Denorfia hit a fastball from Mel Stottlemyre Sr for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Werewolves ahead, 4-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Denorfia told the London Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
