Grays Capture Close Win
The Homestead Grays stopped the Wandering House of David, 8-7, in 11 innings at Forbes Field. The Grays got a big game from Willie Stargell, who was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The victory gives Homestead a record of 57-51.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the 11th. With Homestead trailing 7-6, Stargell jumped on a fastball from top prospect Karl Spooner and hit a 2-run home run to center. With one swing, the Grays had a walk-off win.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Stargell told the Homestead Herald.
