St. Paul Gets 6-5 Win Against Blackbirds
|
Erie left fielder Ed Stroud was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. St. Paul beat the Blackbirds, 6-5. The winning pitcher was Cy Morgan. He tossed 109 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. St. Paul is looking good at 48-20.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Travis Snider went deep for the Colored Gophers. With St. Paul trailing 4-2, he drilled a 2-run home run.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Snider told the St. Paul Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
