Colored Gophers Make It 4 In a Row with 4-2 Triumph Over D.C.
The St. Paul Colored Gophers topped the D.C. Potomacs, 4-2, in WBL Rook National action at Swampoodle Grounds. The standout performance belonged to St. Paul pitcher and Pottstown, Pennsylvania, native Bobby Shantz. Jared Fernandez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities. St. Paul has won 4 consecutive games.

St. Paul took a 3-1 lead on Eric Chavez's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Chavez hit in the top of the seventh, left D.C. pitcher Steve Renko shaking his head.
