Though the conditions were not ideal, the D.C. Potomacs and St. Paul Colored Gophers came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The D.C. Potomacs topped the St. Paul Colored Gophers, 8-7, in WBL Rook National action at Swampoodle Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of D.C. designated hitter Steve Renko. With the win, D.C. raised its record to 40-31.

D.C. took a 8-5 lead on Renko's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Dave Burba in the bottom of the sixth, propelled D.C. to the win.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Renko.
