Colored Gophers Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Staten Island
St. Paul picked up a win at Lexington Park, bumping off the Staten Island Yankees, 6-4. Pitcher Bobby Shantz was a major reason the Colored Gophers emerged victorious. J D Durbin recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 12 for 12. Staten Island has now lost 5 in a row.

With runs few and far between, the Colored Gophers had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for St. Paul came in the bottom of the third inning, when left fielder Glenallen Hill delivered a 2-run home run. The home run was hit off Ian Kennedy and made the score 3-0, Colored Gophers. Hill went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"It feels good to get this one," Hill told the St. Paul Gazette.
