Chinooks Paste 7-3 Loss on Colored Gophers
|
Spirited fans greeted the St. Paul Colored Gophers for their clash with the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks.
David Freese was a major factor in the 7-3 Chugiak-Eagle River win over St. Paul. The Chinooks third baseman went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Clint Rogge converted his 5th save in 9 tries.
Candy LaChance, who is tied for 8th in the ARN in doubles with 13, chipped in for Chugiak-Eagle River with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," LaChance told the Chugiak-Eagle River Observer.
With the win, the Chinooks hiked their record to 50-28.
