Chinooks Double Up Jackrabbits, 4-2

The Kokomo Jackrabbits and Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks left the fans buzzing.
The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks earned a win at Loretta French Park, stopping the Kokomo Jackrabbits, 4-2. Starting pitcher Paul Abbott played a big role in his team's success. Abbott picked up the win for Chugiak-Eagle River, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. Earning the save was John Gaddy. He's now cashed in 17 of 19 save opportunities.
Candy LaChance took Bart Johnson deep with two out in the bottom of the fifth. On a 1-2 fastball, LaChance drilled a 3-run home run to right. It was his 20th home run of the season and put Chugiak-Eagle River on top, 4-2.
"I really like what we did out there today," Abbott said after the game.
The second-place Chinooks have won 5 consecutive games.
