Spikes Jacks Two Home Runs in 8-0 Kokomo Win
The Kokomo Jackrabbits thumped the Erie Blackbirds, 8-0, at Jerry Uht Park. Charlie Spikes was a big reason his team got the win. Spikes went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Shawn Boskie picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-5. He struck out 6 in 8.2 innings. The third-place Jackrabbits have won 4 in a row.

With Kokomo leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Spikes hit a fastball from George Winter for a 3-run home run. It was his 60th home run of the season and put the Jackrabbits ahead, 5-0.

"Things went our way," said Spikes.
