Russ Meyer could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his St. Paul Colored Gophers lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Mineola Black Spiders at Lexington Park. Rex Brothers earned the save, his 5th in 13 tries. Mineola has now won 3 straight, while the Colored Gophers have lost 3 in a row.

One of the key players for the Black Spiders was catcher Bryan Anderson, who drilled a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, Anderson went 1 for 3 with a home run.
