Benefiting from Bill D Wilson's productive game, the D.C. Potomacs downed the Philadelphia Pythians, 6-5. Wilson went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Potomacs. J A Happ went 7 innings for D.C. to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 9. His record improves to 7-3. Larry Gowell notched his 12th save in 13 chances.

The Potomacs got a lift from left fielder Mike Morse, who in the bottom of the seventh stroked a 2-2 curveball into left for a solo home run. It was his 47th home run of the season and put the Potomacs ahead, 5-4.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Morse.

The win for the Potomacs lifted their record to 54-38.
