Erie Blackbirds starter Carl Doyle was in fine form against the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks at Loretta French Park, leading his team to a win, 6-4. With the win, Erie raised its record to 49-43.

Michael Barrett had a clutch hit in the top of the eighth inning. With two men out and the bases empty, the Erie catcher hit a solo home run. That put the Blackbirds in the lead, 6-4.

"Carl was pounding the zone," said Erie manager Justin Spiegel.
