Potomacs Make Chinooks 6-2 Losers
|
The D.C. Potomacs defeated the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks, 6-2, at Loretta French Park. D.C. left fielder Mike Morse had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. J A Happ earned the win to go to 8-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Jim Nelson earned the save, his 2nd in 3 tries.
Morse had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Frank Miller, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Potomacs a 2-0 lead. It was the 51st home run of the year for Morse.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Morse.
The winning continues for D.C., with the latest making it 8 straight.
