D.C. turned a good effort from starter Jose Contreras into a win over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks at Loretta French Park. The final score was 3-2. Contreras, the winner, moves to 10-6. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Larry Gowell recorded the save, making him 13 for 14.

Joe Foy helped the D.C. cause with two out in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and D.C. leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.
