Mineola Black Spiders pitcher Ron Bryant whisked his team past the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks, 4-1. Bryant got the win, improving to 9-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. Bryant allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Claude Raymond. He's now 4 for 6 in save chances.
The Black Spiders grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Chip Hale hit a solo home run off Art H Johnson, putting Mineola in front, 3-1. For Hale, it was his 16th home run of the season.
"I like what I saw today," said Mineola manager Min-hyuk Im, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Black Spiders go to 41-59 with the win.
