Pythians Get 6-3 Win Versus Moose Jaw
Moose Jaw catcher Kelly Shoppach was sensational. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Philadelphia beat the Robin Hoods, 6-3. Pete Richert, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 8-11. With the win over Moose Jaw, the Pythians improved to 52-53.

Corey Koskie had a big solo home run for the Pythians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he got a changeup from Ervin Santana and swatted a home run to right. It was his 45th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pythians ahead, 4-2.

"Winning never gets dull," said Koskie.
