Blomberg goes 4-for-4 to Power Spiders Offense
|
No one was more impactful than Ron Blomberg in the 8-4 Cleveland win over Kansas City. Blomberg, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in RBI with 89, was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Stan Coveleski was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. With the victory, the Spiders upped their record to 63-49.
John Ellis, the 23-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ellis contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Cleveland up, 2-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Blomberg.
