Doby Hits 3 home runs in Spiders Win
Behind a fine performance from Larry Doby, the Cleveland Spiders knocked off the Detroit Wolverines, 10-4. Doby hit 3 home runs for the Spiders. With the victory, the Spiders upped their record to 64-48.

Ed Bailey had a big 2-run home run for the Spiders in the top of the second inning. With Cleveland leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Marcum and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Spiders on top, 4-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bailey said.
