The Houston Colt 45s defeated the Birmingham Black Barons, 5-4, in National League action at Minute Maid Park. Houston pitcher Toad Ramsey had a standout performance. Houston, at 56-59, occupies third place in the National League Marvin Miller Division.

Jim O'Rourke delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the 13th to win it for the Colt 45s. For the game, O'Rourke was 1-5 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"This place was rocking at the end," O'Rourke said.
