Black Yankees Beaten By Wolverines, 7-5

The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Black Yankees and Detroit Wolverines get after it.
Wolverines catcher Ernie Lombardi left his imprint on his team's 7-5 win over the New York Black Yankees. Lombardi was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Detroit in the contest. Mike Henneman notched his 17th save in 20 chances.
With the game tied, 5-5, in the bottom of the fifth, Lombardi had a key at-bat for Detroit. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Lombardi hit a run-scoring single off Herm Wehmeier, making the score 6-5, Wolverines.
"It feels good to get this one," Lombardi told the Detroit Bulletin.
The Black Yankees, at 65-54, have lost 4 in a row.
