The Indianapolis ABCs took Brooklyn pitcher Smokey Joe Williams's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ebbets Field. The final score had Indianapolis getting past the Royal Giants, 4-0. Williams went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 6. The ABCs are now 59-61, while the Royal Giants fall to 70-47.

Indianapolis used a well-timed hit by Bob Bescher to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the ABCs ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We took home the win," said Bescher. "What's not to like?"
