American Giants Suffer 7-3 Road Loss
|
The San Francisco Sea Lions beat the Chicago American Giants, 7-3. San Francisco pitcher and Lonaconing, Maryland, native Lefty Grove led the way. San Francisco is now 76-42, 19 games up in the American League Cumberland Posey Division.
The Sea Lions got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jimmie Foxx. For the game, Foxx was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 36th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 5-3 lead.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Foxx.
