Black Yankees Earn Late 5-4 Win
The Memphis Red Sox could not turn a fine performance from catcher Billy Bryan into a win. Instead, the New York Black Yankees prevailed, 5-4. Bryan went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Aroldis Chapman in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Skel Roach took the loss. The win puts New York at 67-54 this season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when New York designated hitter Mickey Mantle, facing Andrew Miller, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Black Yankees the 5-4 win.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Mantle said, postgame.
