Sea Lions Rally Late to Clip Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Spiders could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bob Feller into a win. Instead, the San Francisco Sea Lions prevailed, 5-4. Feller threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 79-42.
Reggie Jackson came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Cleveland manager Daniel Makonnen. "The effort was great."
