Bench Helps Indianapolis Cruise to 10-3 Win
The Indianapolis ABCs topped the Wandering House of David, 10-3, with catcher Johnny Bench playing a big role. Bench went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the ABCs in the win. Luis Padrón picked up the win, lifting his record to 17-3 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 3 in 8 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The second-place ABCs hiked their record to 62-63.

Barry Larkin had a big 3-run home run for the ABCs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Indianapolis leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Larry Jackson and swatted a home run to left. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the ABCs ahead, 6-2.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Larkin.
