|
Memphis Red Sox starter Len Barker found his groove in his team's 8-1 win over the Portland Sea Dogs. Barker, the winner, moves to 8-10. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. The Red Sox improved their record to 57-67 by beating Portland.
Memphis used a well-timed hit by Bill White to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I had everything working," said Barker.
