Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Philadelphia Stars and Brooklyn Royal Giants.

The Philadelphia Stars beat the Brooklyn Royal Giants, 4-3. Philadelphia pitcher and Miami, Florida, native Steve Carlton led the way. Philadelphia reliever Ted Kennedy picked up the win to move to 4-3. Trevor Hildenberger suffered the loss.

Philadelphia used a timely hit from Jim Fregosi to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Fregosi.

Brooklyn has now lost 4 in a row.
