The Cleveland Spiders stopped the Detroit Wolverines, 13-8, at Tiger Stadium. The Spiders got a big game from Evan Longoria, who belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Pat Malone, the winner, is now 6-9. He struck out 7 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The triumph puts Cleveland at 73-55 for the season.

With two out in the top of the second, Louis Santop put Cleveland in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Spiders went on to win the ballgame.
