Sea Lions Lose to American Giants, 7-5
|
The Chicago American Giants overcame a good performance by San Francisco catcher Mickey Cochrane to knock off San Francisco, 7-5, at South Side Park. Cochrane was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Fernando Rodney got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances. Chicago has 3 straight wins, San Francisco 5 straight losses.
The American Giants got a big at-bat from left fielder Duffy Lewis. For the game, Lewis went 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Chicago a 3-2 lead.
Afterward, San Francisco manager Daniel Makonnen said: "We've hit a rough patch."
