Wandering and Indianapolis duked it out and the House of David came out victorious.

Mark McGwire was a vital contributor to the 8-5 Wandering victory over Indianapolis. The House of David designated hitter went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Wandering pitcher Claude Osteen earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Eppa Rixey suffered the loss. Picking up his 1st save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Shaw.

In the bottom of the sixth, the House of David grabbed the lead when McGwire hit his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Eppa Rixey made it 6-4, Wandering.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said McGwire.

Indianapolis is 2-10 after the loss.
