The Houston Colt 45s beat the Wandering House of David, 6-5. Houston pitcher and Dayton, Ohio, native Roger Clemens led the way. Clemens, the winner, moves to 14-9. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. Sparky Lyle was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Wandering manager Daniel Makonnen. "But we decided not to take it."
