Sea Lions Earn 5-3 Home Win
Jimmie Foxx was a vital contributor to the 5-3 San Francisco victory over Los Angeles. The Sea Lions third baseman went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to 38-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Hudson in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Gerrit Cole took the loss. The first-place Sea Lions, at 83-49, now lead their division by 17½ games.

Foxx had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Gerrit Cole, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sea Lions a 3-1 lead. It was the 40th home run of the year for Foxx.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Foxx.
