Colt 45s Lose to House of David, 7-2
|
Though he had a terrific game, Tony Gwynn could not prevent his team, the Houston Colt 45s, from absorbing a loss. Wandering won the game, 7-2. Gwynn went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, the House of David have a record of 64-68.
Wandering used the hitting of Ernie Banks to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the House of David on top, 7-2. For the game, Banks had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Banks said after the game.
