Black Sox Bridle ABCs, 4-2
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Frank Robinson, the Baltimore Black Sox defeated the Indianapolis ABCs, 4-2. Robinson went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Black Sox. Baltimore is now 79-54, 4½ games up in the AL Cumberland Posey Division.
Robinson had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Rob Dibble, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Black Sox a 4-2 lead. It was the 33rd home run of the year for Robinson.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Robinson told the Baltimore Daily.
