Monarchs Walk It Off for 11th Win of Season
The Monarchs grabbed a win, 4-2, at Muehlebach Field 1923-1941, overcoming a fine effort from Ottawa pitcher Bob Moose. Moose went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win gives Kansas City a record of 11-2.

Kansas City got a knockout punch from Ted Simmons. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Simmons called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
