The San Francisco Sea Lions dealt the Portland Sea Dogs a 4-1 loss at Griffith Stadium. Turkey Stearnes was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. Watty Clark got the win, improving to 5-4. He held the Sea Dogs to 1 run on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The win elevated the Sea Lions to 86-49.

San Francisco used a clutch at-bat from Jack Clark to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sea Lions ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Clark told the San Francisco Daily News.
