Grays Continue Skid, Thanks to Carty, Stars

The home crowd had a good time watching the Homestead Grays and Philadelphia Stars get after it.
The Philadelphia Stars saddled the Homestead Grays with a loss at Shibe Park AL. The final score was 7-2. Rico Carty was 2 for 3, including 1 single and 1 home run. The Philadelphia first baseman scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.
With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Carty hit a run-scoring single off Homestead hurler Cliff P Lee. It was the 117th hit of the season for Carty and put his team ahead, 3-1.
